Nobel a Borges (2018)
In 2018, the Argentine critic Juan Mendoza proposed to us, when the Nobel Prize for Literature had been declared void, to take advantage of the situation and award it posthumously to Jorge Luis Borges. That's what we did. We made a video with fragments of interviews with Borges, wrote a speech of thanks in Swedish and, with the approval of authors of the stature of Irvine Welsh, Catherine Millet, Cristina Rivera-Garza, Mathias Énard, Alberto Manguel and Fernanda Trías, we took advantage of the opening of the Buenos Aires International Literature Festival and, in the MALBA auditorium, a woman who emulated the Swedish woman who used to announce, year after year, the name of the winner, made her triumphal entrance and settled an old Nobel debt.
Bioy Casares is a traitor.
