Sin cartas no hay amor (2024)
What had started as a cycle at a friend's house turned into a sort of performative conference titled Sin cartas no hay amor premiered in 2024. The first thing it demonstrates is, once again, our fascination for the epistolary genre, usually little explored in the performing arts. It is an hour-long dramatized reading in which fragments of letters by very diverse authors (from Dylan Thomas to Marina Tsvietaieva, Frida Kahlo or Pedro Salinas) are interspersed with fragments of songs that in one way or another touch on the theme of letters in their lyrics (from Carla Bruni to Albert Pla, from La Mona Jiménez to David Bowie).
Repercussion
A letter is an out-of-this-world form of communication, less perfect than a dream, but subject to its same laws.
Marina Tsvietaieva
