Enmig (2025)

Enmig is a curatorial project by Marc Caellas, framed under the umbrella of Guèisers at the Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya. A cycle of artistic interventions by Rubén Ramos Nogueira, Esteban Feune de Colombi, Sofía Montenegro and the duo Núria Lloansi and Pierre Peres.

There is an evident contrast between the patrimonial stability of museums and the search for experience in contemporary artistic practices. In this sense, the museum strategy has become accustomed to being seen as a traitor for encapsulating practices conceived from experience and the transitory. But the museum can also be a facilitator of experiences: a place to transit through, to generate narratives and stories.

Enmig proposes to use the Museum as a space of experience, where things happen beyond the apparent patrimonial statism; in fact, that activate the Museum as a space of relationship, relations and knowledge. To this end, it recovers practices that incorporate performance, theatricality, event and fiction.

The actions and proposals of Enmig are between and in the middle of the Museum. The invited artists present actions that alter the conception of linear time or the inside-outside delimitation established by the Museum's architecture. Enmig is also an opportunity to access certain areas that, despite being located right in the center, are usually left out of the suggested route. And it is an invitation to observe the behavior of cultural tourists, a particular type of public with its own agenda, situated between cultural policies, art and citizenship.
