Gracias totales (2025)

Gracias totales is a banquet of gratitude that takes its starting point from the book of the same name, published in October 2025 by the members of Compañía La Soledad with the publishing house La Uña Rota.

Inspired by hybrid and relational approaches, the performance is a meal for 24 guests in which texts, actions, and rituals intertwine around the simple act of giving thanks.

To strengthen the ceremonial framework of the piece and give it an Oulipian touch, we chose corn as both source and thread, and also as a symbol that runs through Latin America from one end of the continent to the other: tlaolli (Nahuatl: our sustenance), mahis (Taíno: sustenance of life), sara (Quechua: to return), avati (Guaraní: pollination), huinca (Mapudungun: new conquerors), tunqu (Aymara: set).
