Cielo TV (2017)
We start from some of the scenarios of the book Cielo, by David G. Torres, published by Turner. Basically, the reconstruction of the artistic and musical environment of the eighties in New York. An era loaded with nostalgia that is identified with the emergence of a music scene based on do-it-yourself punk, the wake of Warhol and his influence on art, parties, free television programs such as PartyTV, nightclubs... The scenic proposal and the book insist on this mythification, reassembling an era that was not lived and idealized as a space of freedom. The gesture of remaking a context implies the implementation of a foreign nostalgia or a vicarious experience, that is, remembering as one's own something foreign or having experiences that others have had. Thus, the project, besides gathering some current strategies on non-creativity, quotation and cut-and-paste, opens a reflection on the theatrical medium itself as a terrain where to experiment through others and invoke situations from different places.we did performances in CDMX (Centro Cultural de España en México), Barcelona (Sala Joan Brossa, Loop festival) and Madrid (Teatro del Barrio).
